We are hiring a Corporate Counsel - Employment & Litigation (Americas) to join our Legal team. This role will partner with teams across Snowflake to provide pragmatic employment advice and manage litigation and dispute matters for our operations in the Americas. The position can be based in our Menlo Park, CA, McLean, VA, or Atlanta, GA offices and will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel - Employment (Americas). WHAT YOU'LL DO - Employment Advice: Drive and give pragmatic advice for the Americas region on a wide range of employment issues, including recruiting, hiring, compensation, benefits, wage and hour laws, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, pay practices, contingent workers, HR policies and procedures, performance management, investigations, terminations, and labor relations. - Litigation & Dispute Management: Manage and resolve employment-related disputes, governmental agency actions, and routine employment litigation matters. This includes managing responses to demand letters, subpoenas, statutory requests for information, and requests from government and law enforcement agencies. - Agreement Drafting: Draft, negotiate, and enforce employment-related agreements, templates, and forms, including employment, consulting, and separation agreements. - Compliance & Audits: Conduct periodic reviews and audits of employment-related policies and processes to ensure regional compliance. - Policy Development: Build and implement scalable, compliant employment policies and programs for a rapidly growing company. - Legal Monitoring: Monitor changes and updates to employment laws and governmental agency enforcement priorities, and advise stakeholders of developments that may affect Snowflake. - Collaboration: Partner with HR, Payroll, and Finance on issues related to global mobility, accruals of severance, and notice obligations. - Training: Prepare and deliver training, in coordination with HR, on employment law topics for managers and business leaders. - Other Duties: Assist with special projects, market expansion, and other duties as assigned to support the Legal team’s mission. QUALIFICATIONS - Education & License: JD from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar. - Experience: Minimum of 3 years of legal experience, including substantive labor and employment law and experience managing litigation or disputes. - Pragmatism: Ability to pragmatically weigh legal risks and benefits of complex situations and propose practical solutions. - Fast-Paced Environment: Comfortable working in an extremely fast-paced environment with the attitude that no project is too big or too small. - Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to forge strong relationships at all levels of the organization. - Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus. - Preferred: Prior in-house experience with a multinational corporation and law firm experience are preferred. - Sense of Humor: A positive attitude and a sense of humor!
